Team z revival of f4/28/2023 ![]() Goku's friends AKA the B-team AKA the warm up act AKA the DBZ cheerleader squad. Similarly, the soundtrack is nice too, mixing a DBZ-style score with some progressive J-rock. The animation is suitably slick throughout Resurrection 'F', enhancing the action scenes like never before, although some might argue that one fight toward towards the end is perhaps a little bit too polished by means of computer generated effects and looks a tad out of place, given the overall style that fans are used to. Notable by her absence when the proverbial hits the fan though, is Miss Android 18, who essentially stays home to look after her child whilst her husband Krillin, whom she is a much better fighter than, goes off to war - this sequence seems needlessly regressive and a waste of a perfectly good character, seeing as 18 was one of the first to challenge Beerus, a God of Destruction, in the previous film. Unlike in the previous DBZ movie, Battle of Gods, this time around it isn’t just Goku doing the vast majority of the heavy lifting (nearly) everybody gets in on the action as Frieza brings with him a gigantic army of redshirts who need to be dispatched of in a gigantic and visually impressive battle. ![]() Resurrection 'F' gets through the formalities of bringing Frieza back to life and giving him a substantial power boost nice and early, leaving plenty of time to squeeze in lots of action sequences. Fortunately, the writers of Resurrection 'F' came up with a remarkably simple solution to make Frieza a credible enemy, one which makes perfect sense in terms of the Dragon Ball Z mythos. After all, since he bit the dust many moons ago, a great many characters surpassed him in terms of strength and power many times over. Upon the film's release, those of us who had been keeping up with events in the Dragon Ball Z universe were puzzled as to exactly how Frieza was going to be a legitimate threat to the series' heroes once again. The last of the pre- Super era movies is titled Resurrection 'F‘ and sees Frieza, one of the most well-known and insidious DBZ villains of all, brought back to life to torment the galaxy once again. It is quite a testament to the staying power of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise that after three decades since it first appeared on TV (and even longer since the first manga was released) the franchise is arguably going as strong as ever.
